Over 130,000 Voters Added in Lumbini Province

For the upcoming House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5, 137,000 new voters have been added in Lumbini Province. This number is 137,043 higher than in the 2079 House of Representatives election.

According to Gahendra Kunwar, Information Officer at the Provincial Election Office, Dang, there were previously 3,249,637 voters in Lumbini Province. After the House of Representatives election held on Mangsir 4, 2079, 137,043 new voters have been added. With this, the total number of voters in Lumbini Province has reached 3,386,680.

According to Information Officer Kunwar of the Election Office, Lumbini has 1,715,163 male voters, 1,671,479 female voters, and 38 voters categorized as others.

Among the 12 districts of Lumbini, Rupandehi has the highest number of voters with 672,523. Among them, 346,203 are male voters and 326,311 are female voters.

The second-highest is Dang district, with 213,300 male voters, 201,303 female voters, and 3 voters from other communities, totaling 431,606 voters.

Based on the number of voters, Banke district ranks third. Banke has 107,139 male voters, 172,223 female voters, and 9 others, totaling 350,371 voters.

Similarly, Bardiya district has 159,387 male voters, 163,873 female voters, and 6 others, totaling 323,266 voters. Kapilvastu has 211,846 male voters, 184,415 female voters, and 4 others, totaling 396,265 voters.

Similarly, in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta West), there are 129,183 male voters, 124,970 female voters, and 4 others, totaling 254,157 voters.

In Gulmi district, there are 114,337 male voters, 115,210 female voters, and 2 others, totaling 229,549 voters.

In Palpa district, there are 101,893 male voters and 105,543 female voters, totaling 207,436 voters. Arghakhanchi has 87,157 male voters and 84,495 female voters, totaling 171,652 voters.

Similarly, Pyuthan has 81,366 male voters, 84,039 female voters, and 1 other, totaling 165,406 voters. Rolpa has 74,690 male voters and 74,907 female voters, totaling 149,597 voters.

The only hilly district of the province, Rukum East, has the fewest voters, with 17,582 male and 17,190 female voters, totaling 34,772 voters, according to statistics from the Lumbini Provincial Election Office.

As the election approaches, for the upcoming election, 1,671 polling sites and 3,998 polling centers have been designated in the province.

Kapilvastu has the highest number of polling sites and centers with 235 polling sites and 490 polling centers, while Rupandehi has 209 polling sites and 732 polling centers, according to Information Officer Kunwar of the Lumbini Provincial Election Office, Dang.

Next is Dang with 159 polling sites and 402 polling centers, and Pyuthan with 105 polling sites and 230 polling centers. Banke has 139 polling sites and 400 polling centers. Bardiya has 154 polling sites and 307 polling centers.

Similarly, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta West) has 122 polling sites and 297 polling centers. Gulmi has 145 polling sites and 284 polling centers.

Palpa has 101 polling sites and 251 polling centers. Arghakhanchi has 102 polling sites and 209 polling centers. Rolpa has 86 polling sites and 180 polling centers. Rukum East has 44 polling sites and 56 polling centers, Information Officer Kunwar said.

During the previous 2079 parliamentary election, the province had 1,649 polling sites and 3,861 polling centers, according to the Provincial Election Office.
