For the election to the National Assembly, an Election Officer’s Office was established in Janakpurdham, the capital of Madhesh Province, on December 31, 2025. In reference to the National Assembly election scheduled to be held on January 25, 2026, the Chief Election Officer Subash Babu Puri stated that this office will assume the responsibilities of preparation, management, and coordination. Puri further informed that the office will carry out candidate registration, polling management, vote counting, and other election-related monitoring and supervision.
According to the Election Commission, there are 379 voters in Madhesh Province, with a total vote weight of 10,839. On the Provincial Assembly members’ side, there are 107 voters, each assigned a vote weight of 53. Accordingly, the total vote weight for Provincial Assembly members is 5,671. Similarly, 272 voters comprise local-level chairpersons, vice-chairpersons, mayors, and deputy mayors, each with a vote weight of 19. Accordingly, the total vote weight of local-level representatives is 5,168.
