Police have arrested Itaram Ghale, 33, of Pokhari, Siddhalek Rural Municipality–7, on December 19, 2025, on charges of killing a 92-year-old elderly woman from the same locality.
According to the District Police Office, Dhading, Pabimaya Ghale, 92, a resident of Pokhari, Siddhalek Rural Municipality–7, was found dead on the night of December 18, 2025, at around 9:00 PM. She was discovered on the porch of her house with a fractured head, injuries on her body, and covered in blood.
Upon receiving information about the incident, an investigation team, including medical experts from the District Police Office, Dhading, and the Area Police Office, Gajuri, reached the crime scene on the morning of December 19, 2025.
The deceased’s son, Lila Bahadur Ghale, filed a complaint at the Area Police Office, Gajuri, Dhading, on charges of murder. Based on the complaint, a case was registered, and the accused, Itaram Ghale, was presented before the District Court, Dhading, which granted 10 days of remand on December 19, 2025, for further investigation. The District Police Office, Dhading, confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.
According to police, although the deceased and the accused were not close relatives, they met frequently, engaged in daily conversations, and maintained a relationship similar to that of a grandmother and grandson.
Police further stated that the accused is unmarried, lives alone, works as a daily wage laborer, consumes alcohol regularly, and has a short temper.
Police reported that the accused confessed to the crime, stating that he went to the victim’s house at night under the influence of alcohol, struck her on the head with a wooden plank in a fit of rage, killed her, and then fled the scene.
The post-mortem examination of the body was conducted at District Hospital, Dhading, on December 19, 2025.
After the post-mortem, the body was handed over to the deceased’s son, Lila Bahadur Ghale, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police Prakash Dahal, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Dhading.
