Over 29,000 New Voters Added in Rupandehi

District Election Officer Kalpana Aryal stated that 29,842 new voters have been added in Rupandehi. This number was added through coordination between the Department of National ID and Civil Registration and the District Election Office. Election Officer Aryal stated that from 26 September to 21 November, during the voter registration period, 17,634 people were registered in the voter list through the National ID system, while 12,208 people registered their names by visiting the Rupandehi District Election Office in person. Among those who registered in person, 10,322 were voters from Rupandehi and 1,886 were from other districts.

Rupandehi had a total of 644,356 voters, including 313,607 women, 330,741 men, and 8 others before 26 September. Aryal stated that since the voter list update process is currently ongoing, it may take some time for the latest voter count of Rupandehi district to be finalized.

According to Information Officer Kalpana Sharma of the District Election Office, Rupandehi, the work of correcting errors in the currently collected voter list, verifying it, approving requests from voters who registered through the National ID system, and carrying out amendments to the voter roll will be completed within three to four days. Additionally, they will carry out the updating process after completing the work related to Schedule 6 and Schedule 2, including making necessary amendments such as changing the polling location if it needs to be relocated.
