A person with a disability in Gorkha was issued a citizenship certificate at his home. On 14 November 2025, Assistant Chief District Officer Chitrangata Baral personally visited the home of Santosh Shrestha, 28 of Gorkha Municipality–3, Ghalang, to provide the certificate, according to the District Administration Office.
Shrestha, who has been unable to walk or speak since birth, was granted citizenship at home due to his condition, Assistant CDO Baral said. “After completing all the required documents, we provided Shrestha with his citizenship certificate at his residence,” he stated.
A team including Ward Chairperson of Gorkha Municipality Ward No. 3, Chulbahadur Kunwar, and Chief Administrative Officer of the District Administration Office, Chudanidhi Tiwari, accompanied the administration for the process.
With the citizenship certificate, Shrestha will now be able to access social security allowances and other government services more easily, Baral said. Shrestha’s family expressed happiness after the administration came to their home to issue the citizenship certificate.
