Chhatrakumari Karki, of Belghari in Teenpatan Rural Municipality-1, who had been missing since November 3, was found dead on November 7 by locals. Her severely injured body was discovered near the Chandaha River in Belghari. Police investigation has confirmed that Karki was killed between 1 and 2 pm on November 3.
Police arrested one person on charges of involvement in the incident. The investigation has revealed that three members of the same family : one woman and two men were involved in the crime. To avoid affecting the ongoing investigation, police have not yet disclosed the identity of the arrested suspect, while the other two individuals remain absconding, according to DSP Surya Prakash Subedi of the Sindhuli District Police Office.
According to police, the victim’s body was found in a brutal condition, with three fingers on her right hand cut off, her uterus removed, a shawl tied around her neck and mouth, and one of her breasts cut off. The post-mortem examination was conducted on November 7 at Sindhuli Hospital.
