Healthcare Workers of Private Hospitals Staged Protest in Dhanusha

Healthcare workers working in private hospitals staged a protest in front of the District Administration Office, Dhanusha, on the morning of November 5 demanding the implementation of the salary scale according to the Act of the Government of Nepal.  The healthcare workers protest peacefully demanding implementation of government salary scales, insurance and safety arrangements for healthcare workers, a 42-hour workweek, and free treatment for their families, according to Navesh Adhikari, a member of the Healthcare Workers’ Struggle Committee.

Similarly, during a peaceful protest by healthcare workers at Pidari Chowk in Janakpurdham on November 4, police intervention resulted in injuries to healthcare workers Rima Mandal, Roshani Chaudhary, Madhu Kapar, Ambika Yadav, and Sanskar Yadav, Adhikari reported.

The police reported that after healthcare workers blocked traffic at Pidari Chowk on the Janakpur-Dhalkebar road from 11am on November 4, force was used to clear the road. During the incident, police arrested healthcare workers Om Kapar, Pashupati Yadav, and Atish Singh, but all were released in the evening, according to the District Police Office, Dhanusha.
