A complaint was filed against Bibek Kumar Chaudhary,23, of Haripur Municipality-3, at Haripur Police Station on November 5 accusing him of raping a 17-year-old girl on October 10. Inspector Shiva Kattel of Haripur Police Station stated that the accused has been absconding following the incident and they are searching for him.
The victim’s father informed that the accused had also pressured the family to settle the matter locally and even threatened to kill them if no settlement agreement was reached by October 30. Hospital in-charge Manoj Kumar Yadav stated that the medical examination of the girl was conducted on November 5 at Malangwa District Hospital in Sarlahi.
