Among the escapees from the Tulsipur Jail, 75 inmates are still at large. According to Jailer Gira Bahadur Sejuwal of Tulsipur Jail, the latest arrests include two escapees one from Salyan and another from Kailali who were arrested on November 1. With this, 178 of the total escapees from Tulsipur Jail have been re-arrested, while 75 others, including eight foreigners, remain absconding.
On September 9, during the Gen-Z protest, 253 inmates escaped from Tulsipur Jail. According to Jailer Sejuwal, among those arrested so far, 23 inmates have been placed in jail across various districts. He stated that these inmates have been sent to the district jails in Kailali, Salyan, Kapilvastu, Pyuthan, Rolpa, Bardiya, and Surkhet, and will be transferred to Dang after some time.
The Tulsipur Jail office added that letters have been sent to the respective District Police Offices to arrest the remaining escapees, and the search for them is currently ongoing.
