Ashok Mandal, 25 , a Journalist of Nanupati, Sahid Municipality-4, who works with Radio Sapta Sahid, filed a complaint at the Yaduka Area Police Office on October 19, accusing two men of beating him over a news report.
According to Mandal, on October 16, he had published a report on Radio Sapta Sahid about the cutting of branches from a pipal tree highlighting the need to protect public property. Following the report, Jugeshwar Mukhiya,45 and Dukhi Shah,42, allegedly formed a group, came to his house, issued death threats, and physically abused him.
Inspector Om Prakash Yadav of the Yaduka Area Police Office said that an investigation into the incident is underway based on the complaint.
