A detainee held at the District Police Office has died during treatment.Thapendra Bahadur Karki, 39, of Bhadrapur Municipality–2, who was in the custody of the District Police Office for investigation in a rape case, died while undergoing treatment at Mechi Provincial Hospital, Bhadrapur, the police reported.
After developing a head-related problem, Karki was admitted to Mechi Provincial Hospital on September 24, 2025. When treatment could not be provided there, he was referred to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan.
Karki died on the night of September 24, at the referral hospital as per the District Police Office, Jhapa.
