The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 257,700 after additional 500 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on December 26, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 249,132 of the total infected have recovered. On December 26, the rate of recovery reached 96.7% along with the 840 latest recovered. The ministry reported that 6,749 people are being treated. Out of which 3,349 are in home isolation, 228 are being treated in ICU, and 50 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 1,819. According to the Ministry, 5,434 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. There aren’t any active cases in Mugu and west Rukum while Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases.
