Update of November 3 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

There have been more than one thousand deaths due to COVID-19 till November 3. The number of COVID-19 infected people have reached 179,614 after additional 3,114 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on November 3, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 141,134 have been discharged after recovery. On November 3, the rate of recovery reached 78.6% along with the 3,142 latest discharged after treatment. The ministry reported that 37,476 people are being treated. Out of which, 30,694 are in home isolation, 372 are being treated in ICU and 68 are being treated with the support of the ventilators. Till now, the death toll has reached 1,004. According to the Ministry, 11,166 number of swabs tests were conducted in the past 24 hours.

According to Jhapa Representative Naresh Khati, the Damak Municipality has decided to partially lock down the area from 4 pm to 8 am on November 3 until further notice. A meeting of the Corona Prevention and Control Coordination Committee chaired by Mayor Romnath Oli on November 2 decided to carry out partial lockdown. The official said that the market was completely closed during the period due to the congestion in the evening.
