Security sensitive polling station identified

The District Security Committee has identified the security sensitive polling centers in Khotang and Kailali district focusing the second phase of local level election and based on these identification, the security has been managed.

According to Khotang District representative Sunita Magar, there are 173 polling centers in 136 polling stations in 10 local levels including two municipalities and eight village councils. In Khotang district, there are 1,15,644 voters according to District Election Officer Dinesh Khatri.

One village council is categorized as too sensitive, four village councils and one municipalities as sensitive and four village councils are tagged as normal according to DSP Nabin Kishore Pradhan of DPO.

The security has been managed based on past incidents, criminal  and geographical region according to CDO Pralhad Pokhrel.

According to INSEC district representative Rubina Chaudhary of Kailali, there are 231 polling stations and 490 polling centers in the district. The polling stations have been categorized in three parts based on their sensitivity.

Out of 231 polling stations , 86 are tagged as too sensitive, 83 sensitive and 62 normal and based on their sensitivity, the security has been managed according to DSP Bir Bahadur Budamagar of DPO Kailali.

Prem Bhatta, an information officer at District Election Office said that there are 13 local levels including  one sub-metropolis, six municipalities and six village councils in the district.
