Police have arrested Ram Prasad Rai, 70, on charges of killing Mahaprasad Rai, 64, of Beltar, Ward No. 7, Chaudandigadhi Municipality, on April 19.
Police arrested Ram Prasad Rai of the slope area along the road leading to the municipal office in Beltar Bazar, Ward No. 7, Chaudandigadhi Municipality, for investigation on charges of stabbing Mahaprasad Rai to death during a mutual dispute on April 19.
According to police, Mahaprasad Rai, who was taken to the municipal hospital for treatment, was declared dead by doctors.
The injured Mahaprasad Rai died during treatment at the Municipal Hospital in Beltar due to injuries sustained from the stabbing, police said.
The postmortem of the deceased was conducted at the district hospital on April 20. On the same day, the victim’s family received the body and performed the final rites.
