Police arrested Bharat BK, 32, of Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City-15, on March 11 on charges of beating Suren Shrestha, 72, of Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City-5, Deurali, to death.
According to the allegation, the accused had beaten the senior citizen on March 10 following a dispute. The victim, who was seriously injured in the beating, died the same day during treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan, Ghopa.
The post-mortem of the body was conducted on March 12 at Ghopa, and the victim’s family performed the last rites at Seuti on the same day.
