During the movement, on September9, 2025, the police arrested Kameshwar Mandal, 45, from Mahnouri, Bode Barsain Municipality–1, who had escaped from the District Jail, Rajbiraj, on November 22, 2025 while hiding at his own home.
Based on confidential information, a police team surrounded the house and arrested Mandal, informed Senior Deputy Inspector Navinkumar Jha of Bode Barsain Police Post.
According to Police Inspector Gajendra Rai of the Area Police Office, Kadrowan, Mandal had been convicted on January 14, 2024 for a rape case, and the District Court, Saptari, had sentenced him to 7 years in jail and a fine of Rs 300,000. According to this, he had served only 19 months of his sentence.
