On February 6, the victim’s family filed a case at the Dhanusha District Court against Ram Jeevan Singh, 26, of Janaknandani Rural Municipality–5, accusing him of character assassination of a 16-year-old girl through social media under charges related to misuse of social media.
The victim’s family had lodged a complaint on January 19 at the Area Police Office, Khajuri, stating that the girl’s photographs and videos had been misused and uploaded on social media platforms, including TikTok, over the past few months.
According to Senior ASI Prakash Thapa of the Area Police Office, Khajuri, the accused was identified following an investigation based on the complaint. Police stated that search efforts are ongoing as the accused remains at large.
