The District Court of Sarlahi on April 7 sentenced Amit Kumar Sah, 39, of Ramnagar Rural Municipality–7 to seven years in prison for raping a 36-year-old woman.
Judge Yambahadur Baniya’s bench found the accused guilty and ordered him to pay Rs. 30,000 in compensation to the victim, according to court registrar Gyanbahadur Khatri.
The victim had filed a complaint with the District Police Office, Malangwa, on April 8, alleging that the incident occurred on February 24. Her medical examination was conducted the same day at Sarlahi District Hospital, Malangwa.
