The Bardiya District Court sentenced Avinash Tharu, 22 from Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality–6 to three months in prison for the crime of recording an obscene video of a 33-year-old woman.
According to Kamal Ghale, the clerk of the District Court, the bench of Judge Manoj Shrestha on December 8, 2025, found him guilty and handed down a sentence of three months imprisonment, a fine of Rs 3,000, and compensation of Rs 2.
The Bardiya District Government Attorney’s Office had filed the case in Bardiya District Court on November 27, 2025, on the charge of recording an obscene video.
The victim had filed a complaint at the Mainapokhar Police Station on October 5, 2025, alleging that the obscene video was recorded on October 4, 2025. The accused was arrested by the police on October 5, 2025.
