On November 19, 2025, the Gen-Z group held a demonstration in Simara demanding identification and punishment of the culprits. As the protest turned tense again, the police used batons, four rounds of tear gas, and two rounds of warning shots.
During clashes between the protestors and the police, Nihari Sapkota, 23, Sumit Chaudharu, 21, Nishant Shrestha, 23 and Sandesh Ghimire, 23 were injured. The injured were treated at the municipal hospital of Simara. Among them, Nihari and Nishant were referred to Neuro Hospital in Birgunj for further treatment, acoording to health worker Samjhana Bishwakarma. The local police office in Simara also reported that some police personnel were injured during the clashes.
The District Administration Office, Bara, imposed a curfew from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The curfew covered 500 meters on both sides of the Birgunj–Pathlaiya highway section and 500 meters around Simara Airport.
On November 19, 2025, the police arrested Dhan Bahadur Shrestha, ward chairperson of Jitpur, Simara Sub-Metropolitan City–2, and Ward Chairperson Kaimudin Aisari of Ward No. 3, elected from CPN (UML), for their alleged involvement in the incident in Simara on November 18, 2025.
On the morning of November 18, 2025, during a youth program organized by the Youth Association at Parwanipur–6 under the Youth Awareness Campaign, CPN (UML) General Secretary Shankar Pokharel and leader Mahesh Basnet were scheduled to speak. The Janaji group protested in front of Simara Chowk and the airport, leading to clashes between Gen-Z and Youth Association activists.
During the clashes, Samrat Upadhyay, Sujal Pathak, Shesh Safid, Ramesh Bhandari, and Saurabh Rimal of the Gen-Z group were injured. The injured were treated at Simara Municipal Hospital in Jitpur.
