The inmates and detainees at District Prison of Okhaldhunga are in crisis after there is a shortage in drinking water. They complained of deprivation of water due to the inadequate supply of water.
The inmates and detainees are also facing difficulties due to the leaking roof caused by the dilapidated condition of the prison building.
A team of INSEC representative, media personnel and government officials visited the prison. During the monitoring, inmates and detainees complained of not getting health services, lack of allowances provided by the state and very congested prison.
The prison building was built in 2045 which have five female and 20 male inmates. The monitoring team had urged prison administration to improve the condition of the prison.
