On the occasion of World Food Security Day, the participants of one program have demanded to ensure the food rights.
The program was organized in District Health Office of Baitadi on October 16.
Information officer Karan Chand of District Agriculture Development Office said that there is a food insecurity in three rural municipalities of the district.
Former VDCs such as Amchora, Bishalpur, Kulau, Mahakali, Pancheshwor, Sharmali, Shiva Nath, Udayadev, Kotepatera, Thalakanda, SIgas, Shivalinga, Nwaudeu and Dhungadh under the Pancheshwor, Shivanath and Sigas rural municipalities have a food insecurity.
When food is available only for three months in a place where there are no road, employment and market is categorized to be a food in secured place. According to the District Health Office, most of the children coming to the office are underwent and have a malnutrition issue.
Every year, on October 16, World Food Security Day is celebrated and food rights has been provisioned in Section 36 of Constitution under fundamental rights.
