Police arrested 6 students on July 23 2026 during a protest against the Minister of Education who was participating in the ceremony organized on the 67th Anniversary of Tribhuvan University.
According to Karuna Katuwal, Chair of Nepal Student Union the six individuals who were arrested includes: Sanam Woli, Vice Chair of Free Student Union, Secretary Hikmat Kumar Buda, Dinesh Regmi Director of All Nepal National Free Student Union, Kul Bahadur Buda, Dambar Singh Airi and Prakash Sanjel.
Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, Superintendent of Police (SP) at District Police Office, Kathmandu informed the arrested individuals are currently in custody of Kirtipur Police Circle.
