FNJ Demands Investigation into Suspicious Vehicles Parked Outside Media Houses

The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has expressed serious concern over incidents in which vehicles were suspiciously parked at the entrances of several media houses, obstructing the movement of journalists and creating an atmosphere of fear.

According to a statement signed by FNJ General Secretary Ram Prasad Dahal on July 13, suspiciously parked vehicles were found from 7:00 a.m. on the same day at the entrances of Kantipur Publications in Tinkune, Onlinekhabar in New Baneshwor, and Himalaya Television in Mid-Baneshwor. The Federation stated that the incidents obstructed journalists from entering their offices and carrying out their professional duties.

The FNJ has urged the concerned authorities to ensure the safety of media houses and journalists and to immediately remove the vehicles. It has also called for an impartial investigation into the incidents and legal action against those responsible for obstructing the professional rights of media organizations and journalists. The statement further noted that the Federation has been coordinating with security agencies to remove the obstruction.
