Govinda Yadav, 23, journalist with Radio Dhanushadham and a resident of Dhanushadham Municipality–5, Dhanusha, was allegedly assaulted by Ward Chairperson Ramsevak Yadav, 51, and his son, Girija Yadav, 21, in Marewa Tole of Karjanha Municipality–7 on June 25, while reporting on an RCC drainage construction project.
The survivor filed a complaint against the accused at the Mirchaiya Area Police Office on June 26.
According to the survivor, the assault occurred while he was gathering news during a dispute between local residents and the ward chairperson over the drainage project. He also alleged that the ward chairperson and his son damaged his mobile phone during the incident.
DSP Purushottam Pandey of the Mirchaiya Area Police Office said the accused are absconding and that efforts are underway to locate them while the investigation continues.
