District Police Office apprehended M.D. Zaidin alias M.D Samir, a 20-year-old resident of RajBiraj Municipality-1, on July 2, following accusations of compelling 22-year-old Aarti Kumari Kapar to take her own life. Inspector Rajiv Giri stated that Samir was taken into custody based on a complaint filed by Ramkumar Kapar Kewat, the father of the deceased, hailing from Sabala Municipality-10 Kharihani. The charges brought against Samir include abetment of suicide.
The late Kapar had entered into a customary marriage with Subadh Kamait from Sirha Municipality-11 Bhaluwahi in Sirha District a year and a half ago, adhering to caste customs and social traditions. Approximately ten months prior to the tragic incident, the accused had become acquainted with the deceased through social media. Subsequently, they eloped on August 26, and married.
Following the rejection of their daughter-in-law by the family, the victim and the accused had been residing in a flat in Rajviraj Municipality-3. On June 23, the victim tragically ended her life by using a scarf inside the toilet of the flat situated in Rajviraj Municipality-3 while the accused, a laborer by profession, had gone to seek employment at a fruit shop in the Rajviraj Municipality-4 market.
Upon learning of Kapar’s untimely demise, her father, Rajviraj, visited the Khariani Police Station in Dhanusha on June 25. Kewat filed a formal complaint at the district police office, asserting that the accused, Samir, had subjected his daughter to physical torture and mental distress, ultimately leading to her decision to take her own life. The postmortem examination of the deceased was conducted on June 25 at Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital in Rajviraj.
