Rajbiraj Municipality has nominated INSEC district representative Manohar Kumar Pokhrel in the steering committee of the Gender-Based Violence Prevention Fund.
Chief Administrative Officer of Rajbiraj Municipality, Madan Kumar Thapa said, an appointment letter was given to Pokhrel; on August 8, 2021, which mentioned his nomination for the operation and management of the fund regulation following Rule 2(2)(1) of the Gender-Based Violence Prevention Fund (Operation) Regulation 2019 (Second amendment.)
The Gender-Based Violence Prevention Fund (Operation) Regulation 2019 prepared by Rajbiraj Municipality has the protocol of seven members under the coordination of the Chief Administrative Officer for immediate rescue and relief committee.
There is a provision of keeping the chiefs of District Administration Office, District Police Office, Social Development Section, Health Sub-section, and a representative from the NGO working in the field of Gender-Based Violence as the members of the committee. Likewise, the Chief of the Women and Children Section is the Member Secretary of the committee.
The committee is responsible to look after the immediate rescue and protection of victims, providing relief and financial support, monitoring and ensuring the utilization of relief funds, conducting public awareness programs for the prevention of gender-based violence, promoting coordination amongst various organizations and bodies, documentation and update of incidents, finding resources for the increment of the fund and other works related to the mitigation of gender-based violence.
