Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC) has decided to felicitate Firulal Chaudhary of Janaki Rural Municipality, Kailali, with the prestigious 27th Prakash Human Rights Award. Chaudhary has been dedicated in the campaign of building a society free of exploitation, poverty, and discrimination for the last three decades.
In a statement issued by Chairperson Dr. Indira Shrestha on July 30, 2021, it is stated that the decision was taken on July 19 by the Executive Committee of INSEC after the award selection committee formed under the coordination of INSEC’s Secretary-General Rudra Bahadur Charmakar, recommended to felicitate Chaudhary.
INSEC had lost their Founder Secretary-General, Mr. Prakash Kafle in the crash of Thai Airways at Ghoptebhir in Nuwakot on July 31, 1992.
According to INSEC, the “Prakash Human Rights Award” was initiated with the aim of perpetuating the memory of Kafle’s contribution to the campaign of human rights and social justice in Nepal.
“Individuals who have contributed remarkably in the fields of human rights, politics, education, health and society of Nepal are honoured on the occasion of ” Prakash Memorial Day “. Before Chaudhary, 26 others have been felicitated with this award,”- mentioned in the press statement.
INSEC has also stated that Chaudhary will be honoured at a ceremony to be held in Dhangadhi, Kailali on July 31, 2021, and the chief guest of the program will be Mr. Trilochan Bhatta, Chief Minister of Sudur Paschim Province.
The statement issued by INSEC states that the awardee will receive a cash prize of NRs. 50,000 along with a certificate to mark his achievement.
