Government Decides to Withdraw the Cases of 120 People Which Were Filed During Madhes Movement

According to the spokesperson of the government and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Parbat Gurung the government has withdrawn the cases of the 120 people during the Madhes movement.

Minister Gurung informed that the cabinet meeting decided to withdraw the cases against 120 people after a dialogue with the Janata Samajwadi Party.

The government has withdrawn the case during the Madhes movement as per the agreement with Janata Samajwadi Party’s Chairperson Mahanta Thakur.

According to Minister Gurung, the case has been withdrawn as per the directive of 2077 on withdrawal of cases filed by the Government of Nepal. He said that the cases against Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN cadres were also in the phase of being withdrawn.

Speaking at a press conference to publicize the decision taken by the Council of Ministers, Minister Gurung said, “We are in the process of gradually withdrawing other cases as well.”
