The armed conflict victims have demanded to form new commission related to the transitional justice saying that the TRC and CIEDP formed by the government four years ago has failed to provide justice to the victims.
The common organization of conflict victims’ assembly held in Butwal under province 5 have demanded for the news commission. The victims from Kaplibastu, Rupendehi, Palpa, Arghakhanchi, Nawalparasi, Gulmi including other districts have recommended after discussing on transitional justice related Act.
Conflict victims had put their views on the draft of united Act related to transitional justice made public by the government one month ago for the amendment of both commissions. They demanded to dismiss both the commissions and form new transitional justice related commission.
Meanwhile, the victims demanded that the definition of the reparation must be comprehensive.
According to chairperson Ram Ujagir Chaudhary of conflict society for justice, total of 60,000 complaint on TRC and 3,400 in CIEDP has been lodged however no action has been taken yet by both the commissions.
