The District Court of Ilam has ordered to sentence 62 years old Birkha Dhwoj Shrestha of Chulachuli Rural Municipality-2 for 14 years after finding him guilty on raping 9 years old girl.
A single bench of district court judge Indra Kumar Chongteli gave a verdict regarding the case on January 23.
Similarly, the court also ordered for compensation amount of Rs 25,000 to the victim .
A complaint against Shrestha was lodged at police office on April 28 by the victim’s mother on charge of rape on April 25. Police had arrested the accused on May 3.
