The municipality office of Rukum has taken the action against two shops at Radi Bazar in Aathbiskot Municipality-9 on October 14 for selling expired substandard food.
The executive officer Ram Bahadur KC of the office said that two shops were charged despite of several pre-warnings on selling expired foods like Chow-chow, biscuits and soft drinks.
The municipality had monitored the shops in ward number 9 and 11 as per their scheduled monitoring each month. The office said that it had performed monitoring in 50 shops and two shops were penalized for selling expired food. The office said that it had destroyed goods worth more than Rs 400,000 which was expired.
