Activists Draws Attention of CDO

The rights activists after conducting the field visit on flood affected areas of the district have drawn the attention of the Chief District Officer to find immediate solution of their problems.

INSEC regional coordinator Bhola Mahat informed that National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Human Rights Network of the district and a group of media personnel have drawn the attention of CDO based on a brief field study report on flood affected area.

The team after their field study said that Rapti Sonari Village Council -5, Lalpur was severely hit by the flood.

The victims’ families in Lalpur have not received any relief yet. They are still living in schools and temples. During the monitoring, it was found that most of the victims were still excavating their buried properties.

In lalpur ,one sack of rice to each flood victim’s family have been distributed according to the team. The team showed their concern that there is a high possibility of spreading of diseases due to the decaying animals around the area. The whole area is having some pungent smell of decaying animals.

The team also said that the flood victims are in need of immediate food  and requested CDO to manage them adequate supply in food.
