Displaced families of armed conflict still waiting for relief

The displaced families during the decade long armed conflict by Maoist side complained of not getting relief until now.

The relief amount has been issued in the name of victims families by the peace and reconstruction ministry through District Administration Office however name of more than 167 displaced families have been missing from the list.

 Durga Bahadur Shahi, 60 of Khadachakra Municipality-5 said that he along with his family was displaced 17 years ago after the terror from Maoist during the armed conflict however the name of his family is not in the list after the signing of peace accord. He added that he is deprived of relief.

Local Peace Committee secretary Khem Bahadur Rokaya said that the allocated amount is not enough to distribute the victims’ families and said that extra amount is yet to be received.

According to Chief District Office Giri Dhari Subedi, the relief amount is yet to come for 134 disabled, 704 abducted and 131 displaced families.
