Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC) has condemned the decision of government to withdraw the cases of about five hundred people involved in a serious crime during Tharuhat/Madhes agitation. While releasing a press statement on May 19, it has condemned the government decision.
The press statement released by INSEC chairperson Subodh Raj Pyakurel urged government to adopt legal criterions of Supreme Court and self made criterion while withdrawing the case.
The government has decided to withdraw the case of killing of eight policemen including SSP on August 24, 2015 during Tharuhat agitation and case of killing of ASI by Madhesi morcha cadres by dragging him out from the ambulance in Jaleshwor.
” The tendency of political protection in serious crime obstructs the attempt to address impunity. The competition of protecting their criminal cadres by political parties as soon as reaching into power is developing as a ill-culture . Alomost all government, after the re-establishment of democracy, are motivated in withdrawing case”, the release ststes.
