Compilation of Voters’ List Postponed with the Announcement of the Election

As soon as the date of the mid-term election was announced, the Election Commission has postponed the work of compiling the voter list from December 21.

Speaking with INSEC Online, Election Commission’s spokesperson Raj Kumar Shrestha said that the voter list compilation has been postponed from the day the election date was announced.

He said, “The Election Commission Act itself has a provision to postpone the work of compiling the voter list from the date of the election.”

He also said that the Election Commission has already started other preparations for the election.

He also said that the voter list will be prepared by updating the list so far.

The government has decided to dissolve the House of Representatives and hold mid-term elections in two phases on April 30 and May 10, 2021.
