For the crime of serious sexual violence against a 17-year-old girl, the Rupandehi District Court has sentenced two 17-year-old boys from Siddharthanagar Municipality-1 to seven years and four months in jail.
A bench of District Court Judge Ashok Kumar Basnet on November 13, 2025 found the accused guilty and ordered seven years and four months’ imprisonment each, along with a fine of Rs 333,333, and compensation of Rs 50,000 to be provided to the victim’s guardians (as the victim has passed away), according to District Court Information Officer Padam Aryal.
The victim’s family had filed a complaint at the Rupandehi District Police Office on July 17, 2025, stating that the accused had subjected her to a serious incident of sexual assault on July 17, 2025. A heath examination of the victim was conducted the same day at Bhim Hospital, Bhairahawa. Police arrested the accused from their home the same day.
