Police arrested Sudarshan Bartola, 50, of Basamadi, Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City–3, on April 23, on charges of beating police constable Bhagenda Thapa, 30, who is working at the District Police Office, Makwanpur.
According to the District Police Office, Makwanpur, both Bartola and his wife were brought to Police Post Basamadi for discussion regarding a dispute that occurred between them on April 23.
At the police post, when Bartola again attempted to beat his wife and son, police constable Bhagenda Thapa intervened to separate them. During the intervention, the accused allegedly had beaten Thapa, causing injuries to his face, the police said.
Following the incident, Bartola was arrested, and an investigation was initiated. The District Police Office, Makwanpur, stated that an additional seven-day remand was granted by the district court on April 24 for further investigation.
