Mohan Thebe to be Awarded “Prakash Human Rights Award-2013”
Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC) has decided to honor Mohan Thebe of Ilam with the 20th Prakash Human Rights Award. Three-member award recommendation committee coordinated by INSEC executive committee member Tikaram Bhattarai and Dr. Pushpa Karna and Ramesh Chandra Paudel as members had recommended Thebe for the Prakash Human Rights Award-2013. Thebe is active in protection and promotion of human rights.
Thebe will be honored with the award at a function that will be held at 11.30 AM on August 1 at the hall of the District Development Committee of Ilam. The program will be chaired by former chairperson of Constitutional Committee Nilambar Acharya.
The award was established in memory of untiring Human Rights fighter late Prakash Kafle, founding General Secretary of INSEC in 1994. 19 persons have already been honored with this award. The award carries a purse of Rs 50,000 along with a letter of felicitation.
