Demand to Form Judicial Committee

Our serious attention has been drawn towards the death of Jaya Narayan Patel of Hariharpur VDC-7 in police shooting at Simraungadh of Bara district on October 11. We express our heartfelt condolences towards the family and relatives of the deceased.
Police had opened firing in air and fired tear gas shells following a clash between the police and locals who had protested the arrest of a student. Police had arrested him on October 10 on charge of obstructing vehicular movement since three days demanding repair of road.
INSEC, through preliminary investigation, has learnt that the local administration was not serious regarding the incident of the previous day and that a civilian was killed as police opened firing before adopting other measures to control the mob.
We demand that the government take action against the guilty after investigation through a judicial committee, compensate the victims and make provision of complete treatment to all injured.
