Press Release
Stop inhuman activities in the name of bandh
Serious attention of Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC) has been drawn by the incident of arson of a passenger bus, heading from Banepa to Melamchi, by the cadres of Communist Party of Nepal Maoist (CPN-M) at Mirabel Chok, Kavre on September 15.
The cadres of CPN-M poured petrol and set it on fire while 15 passengers were inside the bus. They managed to flee by smashing the windows. This incident reminded us of the arson of a passenger bus in Chitwan on February 22, 2002 in which five including a 9-year-old girl died in the inferno.
We conclude that such incidents are the result of reluctance to investigate the crimes against humanity perpetrated in the veil of politics and providing political protection to the criminals. Such is the extent of mockery of Rule of Law that the chairperson of the Council of Ministers is not active to implement the court decision that was made when he was the Chief Justice.
We strongly demand for the action against the perpetrators involved in vandalism to impose bandh to fulfill their political demand which had a potential to claim the lives of the people. And, we also urge the concerned sides to refrain from resorting to such violent activities to fulfill one’s political demand.
