The District Administration Office, Khotang, has provided Nepali citizenship certificates at home to two brothers with disabilities from the same family.
Chief District Officer Rekha Kandel said that Nepali citizenship certificates were delivered to the residence of Man Bahadur Khatri in Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality–8, Lamidanda, and handed over to his two sons with disabilities, Ganesh Khatri, 26, and Thir Bahadur Khatri, 22.
Assistant Chief District Officer Kopila Rai said that the citizenship certificates were provided at their home on June 10, as they were unable to travel to the District Administration Office due to their physical condition.
Assistant Chief District Officer Rai stated that with the acquisition of citizenship certificates, the brothers’ access to various state services, benefits, and rights has now been ensured.
The brothers received their Nepali citizenship certificates at home after Ward Chairperson Lila Chaudhan facilitated the necessary coordination and support for the citizenship distribution process.
Chief District Officer Kandel stated that the government has continued its efforts to deliver services to citizens in special circumstances to ensure that no citizen is deprived of basic state services.
Having previously been excluded from government social security benefits due to the lack of Nepali citizenship, the brothers will now be eligible to receive the disability allowance.
