On March 3, police arrested 10 people from Damak Municipality for allegedly causing a disturbance in violation of the election code of conduct during the silent period.
DSP Kishor Lamsal of the Damak Area Police Office stated that the arrests were made for involvement in activities against the election code. Those arrested were reportedly creating disturbances and moving around under the influence of intoxicants, violating the election regulations.
The individuals arrested include Anish Rasaili, 22, Bibek Khadka, 19, and Jhon BK, 29, from Damak–5. Additionally, from Kamal Rural Municipality–5, Ashok Mukhiya, 53, Harka Rai, 39, and Dambar Rai, 66, were arrested.
From Gauradaha Municipality–2, Uddhav Raj Tajpuriya, 45; from Ilam Chulachuli–4, Chhabi Limbu (Sani), 37; from Damak–4, Savitra Limbu, 40; and from Damak–6, Akhtar Khan, 37 were also arrested for investigation.
