Heartfelt Condolence
We are grieved by the death of living martyr of Nepal’s democratic movement and fighter of anti-rana regime Ram Hari Sharma. Sharma, who was 96, passed away on October 10. At this time of sorrow, we wish for the eternal peace of the deceased soul and express our condolence to the bereaved family.
Sharma was the founder of Nepal’s first political party “Nepal Praja Parishad”. The then rulers had given him death penalty for participating in the anti-Rana movement. More than for political benefit, late Sharma was always firm for democracy and against autocratic regime.
He never used his belief and past background for his benefit. Life of Sharma, whose image was of someone bold, fearless and sincere, will always be respectful for all Nepalis.
