Clash Between UML and NCP Workers

In the northern region of Dolpa, Upper Dolpa, on March 2, a dispute escalated between the workers of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) and the Nepal Communist Party (UML) during election campaigning, resulting in stone-throwing at two locations. According to DSP Ruk Bahadur Khadka of the Dolpa District Police Office, the clash occurred when UML’s campaign team was discussing with local leaders in the Saldang area, and NCP workers threw stones, leading to the confrontation. The police stated that some UML workers were slightly injured while trying to escape from the stone-throwing.

DSP Khadka said that the clash erupted when both parties met on the road during campaigning, which escalated into a confrontation. Following the incident, police teams were immediately deployed to control the situation.

Meanwhile, in protest of the Saldang incident, on March 2, NCP candidate Dhan Bahadur Budha and his workers, after finishing their house-to-house campaign in Tripurasundari Municipality–2 Maddu and heading toward Tripurakot Bagar Bazaar, were obstructed by UML workers near Rajarani in Tripurasundari–1 Rally, leading to another dispute.

Candidate Budha claimed that when attempts were made to hinder their election campaigning, additional workers were deployed in retaliation. Chief District Officer Junu Hamal (Dhakal) stated that following the dispute in Saldang, security personnel were deployed to stabilize the situation.
