Inspection of Border-Area Polling Stations in Sunsari

As the House of Representatives election approaches, polling stations in the border areas of Sunsari were inspected.

On February 25, 2026, district security agencies conducted joint monitoring and inspection of border polling stations to ensure a peaceful, fair, and safe election environment.

Chief District Officer Vasudev Ghimire stated that, anticipating potential security challenges, representatives from the Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and National Investigation Department visited various polling centers across the district to assess security arrangements on-site.

Polling stations in the border areas of Barju, Devaganj, Harinagar, and Kosi rural municipalities, which share a border with India, were inspected. The monitoring included reviewing physical infrastructure, identifying sensitive areas, crowd management plans, and emergency preparedness.

Sunsari security officials assured that high vigilance will be maintained throughout the election period to prevent any undesirable activities.

SP Keshavkumar Thebe advised voters to participate in the election process with confidence, noting that security strategies have been implemented in coordination with the Sunsari District Administration Office.
