Nepal’s first human rights news portal inseconline began to publish a monthly analysis report on the Human Rights Situation of the country from March 2021. We have been documenting the incidents of Human Rights violations and abuses through our district representatives actively present in all 77 districts of Nepal. According to the news published on inseconline from July 16 to August 16 (Shrawan), there have been 142 victims of human rights violations and abuse. Among them 108 are female and 34 are male. There have been four victims of human rights violations and 138 victims of abuse.

Nepal’s first human rights news portal inseconline began to publish a monthly analysis report on the Human Rights Situation of the country from March 2021. We have been documenting the incidents on Human Rights violations and abuses through our district representatives actively present in all 77 districts of Nepal. According to the news published on inseconline from June 15 to July 15 (Asar), 162 people (108 female and 54 male) have been victimized in various incidents. This month Pakhribas municipality of Dhankuta was sabotaged and an excavator was burned in Doti. According to the news published in the portal, 40 people have been violated by the state and 122 have been abused by others.

According to the news published on INSEConline in Feb-March (Falgun), 103 people have been victimized in various incidents. According to the analysis, 57 children, including one boy, were victims of child rights violations. Similarly, 25 women became victims of a violation of women’s rights. In other incidents, 21 people, including 10 women and 11 men, were killed. According to the published analysis, 31 girls and 18 women were victims of rape, while one boy, 18 girls, and one woman were victims of sexual abuse.
Real Full TextAlong with the approaching date of parliamentary and provincial election scheduled for November 26 and December 7, the planned attack on candidates during their election campaign are rampant in various districts. The government is claiming of tightening security by mobilizing army and security bodies however the security challenge is increasing. The security of candidates and voters are the major challenges at present. If the election is nor held in fearless and clean environment, the credibility of election will be questioned. The security of election process means the security of candidates, voters, ballot box, papers and also security of polling stations and centers. In this context, this report is prepared to give a picture of security situation of the distruct and preparation of election based on an information received from INSEC district representatives.
Real Full TextThe Human Rights situation of March 2017 is not satisfactory as compared to the last month. This month, the incident of human rights violation and atrocities has increased according to the INSEC documentation. INSEC has documented five incidents of killings by state party this month.
Real Full TextIn the month of February, the incidents of Human Rights violation and atrocities were higher as compared to the last month. The analysis based on the news published in INSEC online, similar to the last month, this month most of the district was deprived of medicine shortage. However, news regarding the destruction of physical properties in campuses, colleges in regards to the agitation against the announcement of election date by United Madhesi Morcha was published with a priority. News related to the obstruction of various political programs in Terai Madhes by Madhesi Morcha was published. The analysis of the activities such as burning effigies of prime minister and attack on the program participated by the Prime Minister raised the suspicion that agitating party is heading towards politics of restriction. Last month, eight male were victimized by state actor and 187 people were victimized by non-state actor in various incidents on human rights violation and atrocities according to the INSEC documentation. This month, 309 people were victim of human rights violation. Last month 30 male and 157 female were victimized by non-state actor.

This monthly analysis is based on the news publicized in this web portal. It is civilian’s fundamental right to consume civil and political, economic, social and cultural rights without any hurdles.
We expect that this monthly analysis will be useful to those who want to know about the situation of human rights in the country, making stakeholders accountable by publicizing the situation of human rights based on the incidents on human rights violation and atrocities, justice to the victim and action against the perpetrators through advocacy.
Real Full TextThe Constituent Assembly (CA) has individually endorsed all articles of the draft constitution, ensuring the promulgation of the new constitution on September 20. President will announce the new constitution amid a forma event at 5 pm on September 20. CA Secretariat said that some copies of the new constitution will be published where the lawmakers would put their signatures on September 18 in their alphabetic order. CA Chairperson Subash Nembang will then validate the constitution. This is the first time in 65 years that a constitution will be promulgated by elected representatives of people through Constituent Assembly.
Real Full TextThe Constituent Assembly (CA) has endorsed 176 of 302 Articles of the constitution bill as of September 15 evening. The meeting of CA has been put off till 10:30 am on September 16. The CA rejected the amendment proposal on reinstating monarchy registered by Chairperson of Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal Kamal Thapa in today’s meeting. The meet also secured Prime Minister as executive head and president as Head of the State both to be elected by parliament.
