Yearly Pre-review Held in Taplejung
A yearly Pre-review of Human Rights Year Book-2017 has been held in Taplejung on December 11. The program was organized by INSEC.
In the program, INSEC district representative Dev Raj Gurung had made 18 incidents public regarding the human rights violation with in the year. The incidents included nine of domestic violence, one incident of polygamy and eight incidents of rape and attempted rape.
Speaking at the program District judge Ashok Kumar Basnet said that INSEC need to responsibly play a role to minimize human rights violations incidents and atrocities. He added that protection of human rights is not only the work of organizations involved in this field but it is everyone’s liability.
CDO ChakraPani Pandey said that it is very unfortunate for children who are deprived of going to school. He showed his commitment to initiate to solve this issue.
Representative Kaji Bhattarai of CPN Maoist said that INSEC document is reliable and no incidents must be left behind while documenting.
Speaking at the program DSP Ram Bahadur KC of District Police Office said that the administration is ready to correct its mistake when pointed out by the organizations working in this field.
