The Dignity of the Organization Should be Kept High: Chairperson Shrestha

Informal Sector Service Centre’s (INSEC) chairperson Dr. Indira Shrestha said that INSEC should always strive to uphold the institutional dignity. INSEC central office organized a half-yearly review program in Dhulikhel, Kavre on January 16 and 17. Shrestha the idea. “INSEC’s job is to involve the people in the cause of human rights,” she said, “We are working on different projects on human rights.” “We should not be deprived of our rights as we have the same destination,” she said.

INSEC Executive Director Bijay Raj Gautam informed about the work to be done in the coming days. INSEC should make its contribution more creative, said Executive Director Gautam. Executive Director Gautam said that the details of the incident should be factual to maintain credibility in the information collected and published by INSEC.

Stating that the projects being implemented through INSEC have been successful in the minds of all as they are related to the people, chairman Shrestha said that it was important to have coordination between the centre, provincial and districts at all times.photo20200116kavre

Chief of the Management Department, Prem Prasad Parajuli, said that INSEC was working in the same structure along with the new structure of the country. He said that there will be some problems while working under the new structure in terms of resources and it will be made timely.

INSEC’s Director Shree Ram Bajagain informed that additional strategies have been decided after reviewing the projects to be implemented throughout the year. Bajagain said that the action plan will be prepared in such a way that the shortcomings observed during the operation of the project will not be repeated in the coming days. He said that direct or indirect attacks on human rights have been on the rise in the country recently. He said that the social institutions working for the protection of social justice, democracy and human rights should be strengthened. “There is a growing danger that the state will bring some laws and policies out of social justice,” Bajgain said. He also informed that we have to move forward in a more refined and strong manner by keeping it as a central city.

The review program also discussed the initiatives taken by INSEC to publish the Nepal Human Rights Year Book. Coordinators, program coordinators and document officers of INSEC Central Office and all the seven provincial offices are participating in the half-yearly review program.
